Saw this site which ranks the best places to mountain bike both in the states and worldwide. West Virgina was number one in many categories, though UTAH also got high marks. Connecticut (where I am from) did okay, but not all that great. Internationally, British Columbia and Scotland seem like the real meccas. However, Israel did pretty well too! Funny, the Guardian just had a poll and we were voted the ugliest place in the world to visit. I wonder where all those English people were traveling to when they came here? I guess though if you are a lard butt from any country, or a person who thinks that all your answers will be found in the major cities, then Israel could be considered pretty ugly. But I've travelled to enough countries in my life to realize that there is of course a tacit, politicial sentimentthat is being cloaked here, and let's not forget that it's the Guardian who have a habit of casting negative light on us. However, if you are a rider, and not a lard butt reader of the Guardian, look some of us up and come out for a ride. I bet your perspective will change. It's always amazing how that happens when you explore off the beaten path.
