Speed

Never too old if the joints agree...

Have been, for two weeks, doing one day of speed workouts again. Still doing my Yarkon Park ride, which consists of several loops of riding in this pretty nice park on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. A combination of paved trails and dirt. One short, technical climb that if you waver too much, your wheels end up skidding out and you have to jog it. Brings me up to about 160 beats for a few minutes and tests my nerve on the downhill. I then feed back onto a paved trail which takes about 4 minutes and then hit the dirt again. Now I am completing this ride with 5 laps on the paved course doing a 1 min interval where I am off the seat and pushing it rather hard. Will be interesting to see if I get a bit of power and speed back from this.

Saw a wonderful sunset during my ride yesterday and actually loved being on the courses in the fading light.

First rain in months fell for a few minutes yesterday too. A seasonal change is finally happening. The leaves are brittle in places and a slight chill at night is making sleeping a bit nicer. Will be back to the desert next week and hopefully the night will be cool.
