Blood Letting

I continue to seek answers for my vertigo and today went to have a very extensive blood test. Unbeknownst to me, "extensive" means you must cough up (well not literally) a fairly significant amount of your red fluids for such tests. It seemed like they got a conveyer belt readied for me to zoom in all the vials that they eventually filled. As always, I never looked and told jokes to the pricker (not sure of the official title so that will have to do) to keep my mind off what was occurring in my giving vein. Talking of veins, I really am fortunate to have some great ones which must have to do with the sports I have always participated in over the years. The pricker is always able to ram a needle into my arm and find my fountain of blue (red?) with ease. Thus, it was quick and somewhat painless this morning. Not sure if the results will yield anymore answers, but I am going forward on this quest.

Two of my favorite authors, John Steinbeck and William Leastheat Moon, have a new contender in my world for being great travel writers. Bill Bryson, whom so many (not me) know about, is a joy to read. His words roll off the pages like honey from a spoon. Or molasses from a fork. Or, really hot peanut butter from a knife. Whatever, his transitions and his ability to describe details in a humorous fashion are refreshing and keeping me laughing. I did the Sunday morning mail route and stopped by a cafe for my weekly coffee. Sat and read his book and then ordered more coffee in order to keep reading. I am starting with his book on Australia and then will read A Walk in the Woods which is closer to the world that I once knew.

It's hot here again after a period of cooler weather (not cold, for cold is Moscow or something in the minuses and we don't even come close to that type of weather). Seems like close to 20 (or 70 for you F'ing folks) today. Read, clean and bike. Just waiting a bit more for the lost blood to replace itself in my body before I go.
